With the new wave of Democratic Congressional Control, many "old time favorites" are back on the ban target list. Even the NRA and W were willing to compromise on some of these in trade for tort reform, but gun bans are much more likely than any type of tort reform due to the power of the Trial Lawyers Association with Obama in.
Way up on the list are many new accessory rails, scope rails and other recent innovations in handgun design such as compensation, hi cap and double stack mags, concealed carry size and anti-snag features, and much more. Hundreds of innovations have helped the industry recover after the Clinton blows, but steel shortages due to China and war have kept limits on production, making potential ban targets even more valuable if you get yours now, or already own one.
Pelosi is on the record to ban "anything that can't legitimately be used in hunting," including, in her limited world view, all semi-autos, whether pistol or rifle! She and her fellow controlling Dems are basically against any type of self defense. They are going after all the new high cap mags, and anything without a "Child lock and manual safety" (a shot against Glock, Smith M and P and many other DAO and trigger safety designs). Rather than ban all handguns outright, they come at it from the flanks, making requirements (like child locks) that "sound" reasonable but would shut the industry down from a design standpoint, such as the 1911 platform in all it's variations.
The other flank is sales-- making internet, home ffl, gun show, and private sales either illegal, subject to ATF or NICS controls and background checks, or subject to banner lawsuits. Recent laws even make background checks, which have been proven absolutely worthless, required under penalty of felony between private sellers!
Both Home FFL licenses and banned items will be grandfathered, so check them out now while you still can...
