City of New York Threatens More Bans.org!
More Bans responded to Mayor Bloomberg's requests for comments on his out of State dealer arrests. We told him (courteously) that he didn't have the authority to go out of City, let alone State. We did NOT call him a Nazi. (Really!). Astonishingly, he responded with a threatening letter, IN WRITING. The letter is reproduced below. It says:
"We have received your critical comments about our efforts to stop handgun sales in the City, and your opinion about our arrest of dealers in surrounding States. I know it is controversial, and that you believe we don't have this authority, but we will continue to take control of our own destiny. The technology of guns belongs in our hands, not the public's.
"We have a long memory, significant resources, and will add you to our target list if our efforts ever extend that far Westward."
WOW, DOES THAT TAKE BALLS, OR WHAT? TO ACTUALLY THREATEN SOMEONE IN WRITING WITH GOVERNMENTAL POWER? Bloomberg is supposedly filthy rich, and a lover of new technology, and covets the U.S. Presidency. He just doesn't get the City vs. Country thing, though. Here in the West, we have to kill rattlers, javalinas and bobcats regularly if we want to keep our dogs and families safe. Not too many of them in SOHO.
Since that letter, Bloomberg staffers have tried to order numerous items from us, and played a variety of games via the web, ordering and questioning our products, hence our assumption that this is not a prank. If one of our readers can validate his signature, we'd be grateful. We have a no ship to NY policy, so they can TRY all they want! Some of these orders and emails HAVE been traced back to nyc.gov IP addresses! They won't get a "Bud K" like knife suit going here, and their poor citizens will be as unprotected as ever. SCARY THOUGHT: Bloomberg, Hillary, Obama and even McCain are cut out of the same cloth: guns should be government, not public, tools!
