Democrats Going After Internet Gun Sales, Private Sales, and Gun Shows...
Nancy Pelosi and her new Congress have vowed to "...begin a 5-pronged attack against private and internet gun sales." This "FIVE PRONGED" attack includes: 1. Tort Suits 2. USPS Shipping Felonies 3. Private Sale 4473's 4. Specific Transfer Rules and 5. Non-Retail FFLs. THE SOLUTION to all these attacks, to preserve your 2nd amendment rights, is to get your own HOME FFL License before the Dems begin legislation!
Specifically, TORT SUITS attempt to sue private individuals and dealers for shipping violations, "credential" violations and using common carriers to ship guns if you're not an FFL. USPS Felonies attempt (and have already been successful at) expanding the 1508 rules to include ANY shipment of any firearm (even to an FFL) by a private individual. Many FFLs will now only accept Fedex and UPS shipment instructions, and many more won't even send their FFL to a private seller any longer due to hundreds of lawsuits. PRIVATE 4473's, already a law quietly enacted at the end of 2006, makes it an automatic felony if a private seller sold a gun subsequently used in a crime, and didn't conduct a background check (in other words, didn't involve his OWN FFL, or a local dealer). SPECIFIC TRANSFER rules, already in committee, are a direct assault against INTERNET and GUN SHOW sales as they require a SELLER 4473-type ID and coordination of purchaser ID's, for any gun ON BOTH ENDS, shipped between state lines. PRIVATE INTERNET SELLERS are already HELPING TO DESTROY GUN INTERNET SALES by REFUSING to send enough information (such as driver's license, current address, etc.) to the transferring FFL. The BASE of transferring FFLS is thus rapidly eroding right now! Some FFLs call a seller and ask for ID due to new and proposed ATF seller ID rules, and the private internet gun seller threatens invasion of privacy action! Add to this the inevitable crackdown by ATF due to the new DEMS on legitimate dealers for not having more and more information on the private seller, and guess what happens? TRANSFERRING FFLs will, in droves, say: "Heck, for 20 or 30 bucks, internet transfers are not worth this hassle!" There are even some large internet SELLING FFLs who now refuse to do transfers for OTHER non-FFL private sellers, talk about cutting the internet gun business's throat! Finally, HOME FFLS went from over 400,000 to under 100,000 under Clinton, and are now back up to half a million and growing rapidly. GET YOUR HOME FFL while it is still grandfathered!
NON RETAIL FFLS are an attempt to dial back to Clinton and use State Sales tax, zoning, restrictive covenants, safekeeping and other details to eliminate home gun dealers and crack down on gunsmiths. The CURE for all these attacks is to get your own FFL before the new bans are enacted! Click to read more...
